LENA Grow

What is it?

LENA Grow is a job-embedded professional development program designed to help infant, toddler, and preschool educators improve program quality, specifically in building robust language environments. The program utilizes a talk pedometer that children wear to measure their language environment. LENA software then processes the audio and produces data and reports that can be used to identify and target specific classroom strategies to help students.  

What is the evidence base?

Children in LENA Grow classrooms show improvements in their expressive language abilities. Educators who use LENA Grow increase the amount of conceptual development, quality feedback, and language modeling in their classrooms.
